On a positive note though

Even though Portland is a very small town, there are so many good things about it.   No traffic.  Everyone knows everyone and the most important thing is that I DONT HAVE TO DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE.
With the internet you can live a normal life in the sticks.
I manage to have the coolest cell phone EVER

If your lucky, you can also have a Vera Bradley Cupcake bag delivered right to your front porch.

The other good news is that you can blog your heart out and find all kind of un-hick like recipes.  Like the wonderful breakfast I just made.

Super Easy Fancy Pantsy Breakfast Pizza

Here it is before it went into the oven

The eggs slid a little in cooking

See you can live a wonderful life in a small town.

**And have a high class elevator...LOL

Only in Portland Tennessee

Some days all you can say is WOW.  So Kristan and I decided we would BOLT really quick to Family Dollar to run get a co-worker a Frappe.  Time available for trip 15 minutes.  We fly down our high class elevator and into Kristan's car.  Those of you not familiar with Portland.   We have 2 stoplights.  We were like the second car at the main stop light in town, and all of a sudden police come squealing into to intersection and jump out of the car.  Kristan and I are like what is going on.  Then someone jumped out and pulled a video camera.

I flipped my head around and the balcony was full at the bank.

The pic is not that great because it was out of the back of the window through the glass.  We have no idea what is going on at this point.  Then over the horizion>>>>>>

YES you heard me right.  I A PLANE.  Now we are so intrigued.

It rounds the corner...............I know the anticipation is killing you.

Yes, I kid you not.  I know that you can not see it...There is a man in the cockpit waving.  See the man on the ground waving back.

NOW FOR THE FINALEEEE.
Only in Portland TN.  Tractor pulling the plane.  John Deere of course.   So you ask how Kristan and I are fairing now its been 30 bloody minutes???

Pretty good actually.

Well Kristan was trapped with no where to go so I got to take her pic..LMAO

I know you are also wondering did we make it safely to our destination

Yes we did nearly an hour later.  We are like 3 miles at the most from the office.
It was not till later we found out about the history in the making.

 Story of the Plane

**Please note I am not cheating on Dollar General, they do not carry my deodorant or $1.00 hair flowers.

Happy 7 Years to US

Saturday Kevin and I celebrated our 7th anniversary.  CRAZY how time flies.  As my dear husband explained to our Sabbath school teacher.
"Only being married to Karen can make 7 years feel like an eternity"  This is why I love my husband.  LOL.
You ask why I would choose this picture of us?  It says it all.  Me running around trying to get ready...Kevin dressing himself...My parents visiting from Chattanooga...Me begging for one good picture.  This is the outcome.  However, I am pretty sure that I will be wearing a tank top under that shirt from now on. Of course my perfect picture turned out to be a bra show too.  SHMMSHSHSH.

My hubby sent me the most beautiful flowers to work on Friday.  It meant the world to me.

I always do the traditional gift.  I had a hard time this year being that it is a WOOL and COPPER year.  However, I pulled it off with a wonderful copper Zippo.  I chose to have Kevin grill us a ribeye on the grill.   His steaks are the BEST.

Don't you just love the plastic fish plates.  Both Kevin and I came into this marriage with nice dishes.  We of course bought some together too.  One fine Christmas many years ago, I stopped at Dollar General and found the cutest plastic Santa Clause and Reindeer assorted plates.  So I bought a set of 4 plates, 4 cups, and 4 bowls.  The were 1$  Since this time that is all anyone wants to eat off of is those dollar Christmas plates all year long.  Well, they started to crack a little.  So in time we have picked up some fish plates to add to collection.  CLASSY :)

I will never forget

We all say that 9-11 the world stopped turning.  Yes, it did.  I spent the day with Rick Honeycutt and Eddie Willis, running back and forth giving updates.  Constant phone calls to my mother.  I thought we would sure be in all out war on our soil.  History writes its own chapters.    Here is an amazing tribute right after the attacks.

Where were you when the world stopped moving

Fantastic 10 year Tribute.  Get your tissue out.
